Desktop Hard Drive not always recognised on start-up/after reboot

I have been having issues with my Seagate Desktop Hard Drive (STBV2000300), pretty regularly either on start-up or after a reboot my Seagate won't be listed in My Computer and will require a reconnect before it will show up.
Occasionally my computer will recognise an 'Unknown Device' and install drivers for it on start-up, afterwards stating that the drivers have been installed and the unknown device is ready to use, I am pretty sure that it is recognising my Seagate and attempting to reinstall the drivers. I have tried setting 'USB selective suspend setting' to disabled but I still get the issue.

My current USB 3.0 drivers are:

Etron USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller: 1.0.0.115
Etron USB 3.0 Extensible Root Hub: 1.0.0.115

thanks,

I have had the same issue and have been unable to solve it. I think it might be a firmware glitch in the drive.

Hi prizna,

Try this harddrive on different system to isolate if it is an issue with the hard-drive or the system. Then you should check the harddrive with different USB port and USB cable assuming it is USB hard-drive.

Also, it would be better if you update the chipset drivers of the system to see if it helps in resolving this issue.

Kindly update your system specs here by following this.

Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.
