Desktop Icon on taskbar disappears when I open any folder

Hi,
I wonder if someone can help me please,

I got windows 7 64 bit running, Since last two weeks I am having issues with desktop icon on my taskbar. Actually I have got this little screen icon on taskbar to easily minimise all the open windows when I click on the desktop icon on taskbar. But since last two weeks whenever I open any folder from (my computer > drive a> any folder from drive a) or any folder from any other drive or from desktop, my desktop icon from taskbar disappears. And when I close these open folders then this comes back. Its very announcing.
I want to see this icon on taskbar all the time as before.

Can you please help.

The only thing I can think of.

Right click on Start Orb and select Properties and then go to Taskbar at the top. Remove the check mark from Auto Hide Taskbar.

You could go to a restore point before all this happened.
