Desktop icons disappear for no reason

Ok i have got a 3 month old windows 7 x64 laptop. About a week ago when ever i logged on there would be no destop icons and when i refreshed it they appear for about a second and then go away again. I don't know what the problem is so could anybody help me please!

Is the "Show Desktop Icons" option checked ? Make it sure at first.

But the test of RAM is very important . Anyway, what is your amount of RAM ?
