I have Win7 Home Premium (x64) on a HP G60 laptop. I am seeing some strange things happening on my desktop. Certain program shortcuts that I created, have got corrupted and don't show the icon related to that program. The shortcut however works. I find that manually re-creating the shortcut after deletion also does not help.

Two of these programs are portable apps, for which I manually created the shortcut, and one is a regular installed app. I also notice that the icon that appears for these programs in the Start menu also appears corrupted. My PC is fully protected, and there are no viruses in my PC. Shall appreciate some help on resolving these issues.
