Solved Desktop Icons wont come up

I have no idea where this should be so I put it here. I was may have downloaded a program with a few..... viruses. But when I turn my computer on, my desktop wont show, and the file that I downloaded keeps wanting me to run it. It also has several different processes that run in the task manager. What should I do? I thought about taking it to an IT guy but, I cant have my mom knowing about this. Any help would be great.

Hello. Boot into Safe Mode and there do a full scan with Malwarebytes. See the results and delete that files if MB found something.

In addition, check to see if the program may have added anything in your startup program lists and registry locations to have it run like that at startup.

It also wouldn't hurt to use Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper to scan your system with at boot to see if it can find and remove any malware found.

I'd like you to scan your machine with ESET OnlineScan

If this happened just recently, is there any chance you can do a system restore 2 or 3 points back past the point of infection? Try booting in safe mode and see if you can do it from there. That itself my remedy the problem, or remove some of the virus depending on how severely your PC was infected & with what.

If that does work, It would be a good idea to follow the advice given above and scan the heck out of your system since some viruses leave traces behind.
