Desktop icons won't delete
I accidently unzipped a folder to the desktop so the zipped contents were placed on the desktop instead of into a folder like I intended to do. I just selected them all and deleted them and did it into a folder but three icons from the files are left and they cannot be deleted.
This is message I get when I try to delete them "This is no longer located in C:\Users\Me\Desktop. Verify the items location and try again".
I have tried renaming to delete and I get the same does not exist message. The files are 0 bytes in size and are blank icons like a piece of paper with the upper right corner folded down. In properties it says they are a "File (.)" and opens with Windows Shell Command. The unzipped contents were for making a boot CD for a password reset tool.
Any ideas what I can do to get rid of them?

I tried the re-unzipping and no luck since the new file names I found all have periods after them where the originals did not. I cannot rename them. They are all 0 bytes. Refreshing desktop did not work either. Also tried doing it from the command prompt but it says they do not exist. I even tried creating a folder to put them in then to do the CMD delete method...no luck they will only allow themselves to be moved around on the desktop and that is it.

You could also try binning them from command prompt, though I don't remember the commands off the top of my head.

Tried this one also. I did find another thread where a guy had the same problem so I have sent him a message to see if he solved it.
