After installing a clean version of 7 (x86 or x64) when I open the contents of any DVD I see a file named "desktop.ini" which ios ready to be written to DVD !!!
This exists by default until deleted manually!
It seems that Microsoft staff placed it here for us to write on our DVDs )

Desktop.ini is actually a file which stores the view preferences for the folder in which it is located. Deleting it will likely cause the view preferences for that folder to revert to the default for the system. If you don't want to see the file(s), you can simply hide protected operating system files instead of deleting each one.

Open an explorer window > Organize > Folder & Search Options > View Tab > Check "Hide Protected Operating System Files (Recommended)"

You misunderstood!
On the root of each and every inserted DVD this exists!
In "Files ready to be written" group...
Not expected behavior!

It's still just a preferences file, if you don't want to see it, hide it. As far as it showing up being ready to be written, I don't know. It may be that desktop.ini is always added to a newly written DVD to save view preferences. As I said, it'll disappear if you hide protected os files.

desktop.ini and any other hidden files are not written to disk during the write process.
