Desktop is showed in a folder at startup

When i start up windows, there is no icons on my desptop. And no taskbar at the bottom.

Any ideas?

What version of Windows 7? Is it the official release or is it an RC/beta/etc? Please update your specs.

boot into safe mode (F8 repeatedly when booting) se if it happens then

can you use the snipping tool (built in to win 7) by typing snipping in search. use that to tak a screenshot of your desktop and upload it to us.

Let me know if you need any help with any of this

Umm, something went awry. You might consider doing a repair install to see if it can fix it without losing anything.

Odd that you do not have the Windows 7 installation disc anymore. What happened to it?

You can create a system repair disc to boot from and see if a System Restore at boot using a restore point dated before this happened may be able to fix it.

Only thing I can think of is either a folder got moved, or there is a shortcut inside a library folder. Let me do some research.

See if you can find the dvd though

All sorted now!

Now i just need to get Dreamweaver and Photoshop sorted as im a graphics designer (Y) if anyone who helped me on this thread wants some graphics then just mail me and ill do it for free in return for al the help you guys gave me!
