Solved Desktop machine build based on G3258 OClock

Hey there,
Before I can fine tune the choosing parts process, I am interested to know if the above mentioned CPU could be used in OC mode only in Z-type Motherboards, or also (according to other infos) could be used on B85, H87 and H81 chipsets Motherboards with/without BIOS update.

In other words, Is there any possibility to pair and use this G3258 CPU on GA-B85-HD3-A for example Motherboard please, are there some limitations? Thanks,

why would you want to OC or even buy a 2 year old $69 cpu ? Why not just buy yourself a better cpu ?

I would only consider getting a Z type board, what brand do you want, what version ? Z97,(1150 Socket) Z170 (1151 Socket) etc, and how much money do you want to spend ?

There is no need to OC a cpu today, they are awesome right out of the box.

First of all thank you for passing by and giving me your feed-back.
Indeed, long time no watched the hardware evolution and how I am like wow ... where should I begin?!

Actually I've asked myself too lately, if OC is the best solution and I realized that a decent CPU "as is" will be a better option taking in consideration the apps that will be installed and used on this machine and the lower temperature/stability of the system without being necessarily to use coolers, special OC not so cheap Mobos and stuff. I'm not a gamer maybe an occasional image editor in software like Illustrator/Photoshop/Lightroom/InDesign etc. In these conditions, having as reference point my old Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GB, HDD 1TB, 4 X Corsair 2GB DDR2, 800MHz, PC2-6400, 5-5-5-18 on Intel DP35DP mainboard, I guess that a new Skylake at 3.3Ghz (e.g. G4400) + 8..16GB RAM DDR3/4 + a decent H chipset motherboard like Asus H170 Pro or H170 Plus-D3 + SSD (as OS support), will be more than enough and a HUGE improvement.

So in this new environment if you have any recommendation will be much appreciate it regarding the Motherboard. I am stuck in this area because I suppose that Asus it will still be a decent choice.
I forgot to mention, I already have the graphic card, MSI R7770-PMD1GD5, AMD Radeon HD 7770 1GB GDDR5, 128bit.

True, I didn't tell something about the budget but i3,5,7 I suppose that is too much for my needs.

Latest gen i5 is likely as much as you will need, unless you have a specialized application. I have had good luck with Gigabyte mobos (just built an i5 system with a Gigabyte H170 that went very smoothly) but Asus is well regarded also.
DDR3 is the future - I would not build a new system with DDR2.

While DDR3 is the future, still I can't see any differences with DDR2 and DDR3 unless even in Dual Channel Mode. Same goes to DDR4. And yeah Pentiums aren't worth it now and i3 will be the best choice against them. Remember you cannot OC an i3, i5, and i7 manually if they don't have the "K" in their model name because of their locked multipliers, you can only use the boost clock to OC those. Also, take the motherboard into account when OCing as some don't support OCing.
