Solved "Desktop" no longer an option in save dialog box

No matter what I try to save to the desktop, "desktop" no longer shows up in the save to/save as dialog boxes as an option for where to save the file. I think I mis-clicked something in that dialog box to remove it, but now I cannot get it back.

No gpedit.msc and regedit didn't do it

I opened system32 and no file named gpedit.msc. The gpedit.dll was there but no .msc. I followed the regedit instructions to the letter and this did not resolve the issue.

Then try Option 2 step 5 of this tutorial again http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/85487-common-file-dialog-box-customize-places-bar.html

Followed instructions; here is a screen shot

I followed all instructions so far with no change. I am attaching a screen shot to illustrate. The left pane of this or any "save ___ as" dialog box no longer includes the Desktop option, as you can see.

OK that is the Navigation pane look at this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/853-navigation-pane-show-all-folders.html or you can drag your desktop folder over under Favorite if you want.
