Desktop Slideshow transitions now "catch" midway-through

After a fresh install of Win7, my slideshow transitions from image to image are no longer smooth - they kinda catch halfway through the fade and then snap to the next image. Any ideas? Running an Aero theme.

Hello DavidB1959

Welcome to Seven Forums!!

What kind of slideshow are you referring: 1) Windows Explorer Slideshow 2) Desktop Background Slideshow or 3) Screen Saver Slideshow?

Sounds kinda like the picture image files are too big. Could you try using smaller image file sizes for your Slideshow?

Desktop Background I think....

It's the one that's linked under Desktop Background in Properties...and it does it with any images, even the ones packed in Windows, like Landscapes. My images average about 200k each. And it used to work fine before my re-install of Win7, for about 5 years.

Solved!

After some searches, I decided to increase the virtual paging amount...I'm running 6GB of ram, so for safety I increased the file to 18GB for both standard and maximum. All graphics, animations, etc. are now smooth and, where needed, quick.

Hello David, what are the Power Plan settings of the computer : balanced, high performance, power saver or custom?
