hi All,

Have a problem moving files from my laptop to my desktop. They are on a Homegroup, both running Win 7. When I try copying files from my laptop to my desktop, and I initiate this on the laptop, I get an error saying "Destination folder access denied. You need permission to perform this action." But if I initiate the same file copy from my desktop, then it works fine. Any suggestions? thanks

If you can copy files from the homegroup network, but not move them, then the source computer is sharing it's file over the homegroup with read-only access.

Check the homegroup settings on the computer you're trying to move files from...

I can't copy files if I initiate the copy process from the laptop. But if I initiate the same copy process from the desktop, then it works. This is ridiculous. If you set up a homegroup, why are there issues like this? I checked the homegroup settings, and everything says share everything. So the source is the laptop, the destination is the desktop. What now? thanks
