Hello, basically every time my I open a game or something else that overheats my CPU it takes the graphics chip with it. So whenever I boot my laptop the boot screen goes from black to white from the outside so I have to hold down the power button and wait for it to cool down. Could this be a corrupt chip or a overheating problem or some thing else?:cry::confused: Any suggestions would be useful!

What temps are you experiencing? It sure sounds like an overheating issue. Have you blown out all the vents and ports on the laptop? Dust, lent and just about any other microscopic pariticle will cling to the fins of the fan and create weight on the fan which slows it down which in turn could cause the fan to stop spinning all together. It's very important to keep the exhaust vent and intake vents blown out and on a regular basis...every two weeks should be sufficent.

I had it cleaned on November 30th because I had overheating issues where the CPU reached 80 degrees so I have no idea what is wrong with my pc. (Do you know what size screws are on a HP Pavilion dv6 so I can check the insides?) I don't experience high temps. I can't even play a 2 minute video on my pc (not youtube) without it overheating :(
