Detect Escape key with batch file

I want to separate the escape key in a batch file from all others. If I use "choice", all keys would have to be listed. "errorlevel" seems to return "0" for every key because "choice" is not used. thanks...

uh, yea. I see a lot of info that uses "Edit" for batch programming and "Edit" has been removed from windows - unless you know where I can get a copy?????

Edit: I found "Edit.com" and it will not run on a x64 machine.
