Device Manager says coprocessor is missing...

In my device manager, it says that my coprocessor was never installed. I looked in the processor drop down tree, and it said that both processors were working. I don't know what to do... or if it's harmful...

I googled my problem and found some forums with some people who had the same problem. they were saying it was nvidia chipset drivers, and this one guy said that he tried updating the driver via the web. it didn't work, same for me. But, he said he got it to scan his entire C:\ drive, and it found the missing driver. So, I did the same thing, and it found it in about 5 minutes! it turns out it was my nVidia nforce system management controller!

so there you go!

But, he said he got it to scan his entire C:\ drive, and it found the missing driver. So, I did the same thing, and it found it in about 5 minutes! it turns out it was my nVidia nforce system management controller!

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!! I've been having the same problem for the past weeks and this thread solved it.

Question though, would installing the coprocessor remove the occasional choppy or lag in my videos? I've been having those problems ever since I've done a clean upgrade from Windows 7 RC to Windows 7 Home Premium. Just so you know, the Win7 RC wasn't a clean install from the original OS, Windows Vista.

That could possibly be the drivers for the video card or chipset.

I found this thread after downloading and installing the correct driver for my system from NVidia's website and restarting my computer. After I did that, I implemented the fix Wii Master 64 mentioned, which was to have the computer manually search the whole C:\ drive (the hard drive) for the Coprocessor driver. How this is done is:

1. Double-click the coprocessor entry under other devices in Device Manager.
2. Select Update Driver
3. On the next screen, select the "Browse my computer" option.
4. On the next screen, on the "search for driver software location" field, just type in C:\ and nothing else.
5. Make sure the "Include Subfolders" checkbox is selected and click "Next".
After a couple of minutes it should find the correct driver.
