devrtl.dll error

My computer crashed, then when I rebooted I got this error

c\Windows\SysWOW64\devrtl.dll has error, not designed to run on windows.....

I'm in safe mode now. I can run the computer but have major problem with...
explorer crashing
everything is super slow

i'm not getting the error now, but there is definitely a huge problem.
I was going to do a system restore but there are no restore points on my computer.

Sure hope someone can help. I'm desperate!!

What were you doing or what changes did you make just prior to this event occurring ?

Do you have Adobe Acrobat X Pro installed on your PC ?

The file maybe corrupt for whatever reason.

Here's a copy of the devrtl.dll (x86) (x64) files from my computer. Unzip and try replacing yours with these in your C:\Windows\System32 and C:\Windows\SysWOW64 Folders.

I had just woke up and was on Chrome when it froze and then crashed (I leave the computer on at night since i wake up every 2 hours and usually get on it, then will reboot in the AM).
Adobe Acrobat X Pro is not installed.

I've run into a problem trying to replace the file. Saying..

you need permission to perform this action

I know how to run as administrator for programs, but how can I get permission to replace the file since I am the administrator?

Sorry for my delayed response. My internet speed has been slowed as I've exceeded my monthly allowance so it's at snail pace.

Refer to this Tutorial link on creating a 'Take Ownership' shortcut so you can then replace those files.
