Dear All,

As we all know, the hard disc drives are shown in red color when we run out of space and in blue color when enuf free space is there. I was wondering if it is possible to have diff. colors for diff. partitions say red, green, orange etc (irrespective of space present or not). Plz let me know if that is possible or not.

Thanks in advance,
Troy.

I can't imagine wanting to change this....giving up the reason the colors change. Wouldn't you want a quick visual indicator if your drive was low on space? If I had a problem or some kind of malware that was filling my drive, I'd want to know.

You'd have to search for a 3rd party utility to do that (if there is one...). I suppose it would (should) keep red reserved for drives running low on disk space so that the issues Deacon mentions are accommodated.

Different visual themes will change the colors from blue & red to others, but my search for something that changes it based upon drive has turned up nothing.

Don't think this will change the color of the low disk space warning, but it will change the other colors.

Start Orb,
Right click 'Computer',
Click 'Manage',
Select 'Disk Management' under storage,
Click the last Icon on the tool bar 'Settings',
In the 'Appearance' tab you can change the 'Color and Pattern' for the disks
You can try this and see if it gets you what you want.

I believe that is only for the color of the bar at the top disk management view.

yes, you are right..that's not the one to change the partition colors. But as James said, it can be done only via some 3rd party utility. Like WebMattR even i could not find that utility still..so i guess, that's it and i will close this thread. Thanks a ton guys for your responses.

Is there a way to retain the user-selected partition color settings in Disk Mgmt? I'm running Win 7 x64. When I change the color indicator for Primary partitions in the "settings" option to blue, it reverts back to the default color (dark blue on my PC) when I launch Disk Mgmt the next time.
