Howdys,

First off just found this form, and wow thank you!

ok .. now for my problem.

I upgraded from winxp to windows home premium. Everthing worked fine in xp fyi.

Back ground, I run 2 monitors. One standard hooked to my video card, 2nd one a USB 7" monitor.

Both have most current updated video drivers etc.

I normally play a dvd / streaming video on the usb monitor as I play online mmo etc.

I am able to watch any dvd / streaming video just fine on the USB monitor if im not online in a game session etc ( fyi the games ive tested this with are LOTRO & DDO ).

If I start up the game and go online, the video stops updating or goes totally black on the usb monitor. Its still playing, I hear audio, but no picture / video.

If I tab out and to the desktop and move the player from the usb to the normal monitor video starts again. I move it back and the video stops.

I Have tried several players also, Media center, wmp, vlc, mpc etc all have same problem happen.

one more note / strange thing. in any of the above players, when the video stops on the usb monitor, if I right click the player window to bring up a menu of options, the video then starts to update normally behind the menu window on the player. Menu closes, video stops updating.

( drivers are the current ones from nvidia and displaylink ).

Help?

It seems the USB monitor is not getting enough juice. If you can attach a second monitor direct to the video card try that. Otherwise update your chipset, BIOS, and possibly install more RAM. 2GB is just enough.

Thank you for the suggestions.

Unfortunately My bios etc are also up todate ( at least cannt find a more recent driver for them ), and as far as more ram.

Well, the system I have will only support 2 gig.

I suppose Ill just have to wait another year or so to get a newer system :(

Economy what it is right now, I cannt aford to do it at this moment.

What I find frustrating is the fact that it was all working properly in xp.

Sigh
