Difficulty in burning memtest CD

Am downloading the memtest ISO and yet cannot get it to burn to a CD anyone else having this problem please?

Yes mate thats what I have been doing but I download it and ImgBurn finds the download - image to disk but then - nothing

No bonesy this is an old Compaq desktop and I think the mother board is generally up that creek:(

are you bboting from the correct drive if your pc supports usb boot try craeting a bootable usb drive with the software
you can use XBoot very good and easy

No folks I can boot an XP drive to safe mode just and a a Ubuntu try session but it hangs and I think perhaps the motherboard is shot.

I have tested just about everything else and apart from just reaching 11.8v on the 12v rail I cannot pin it down to anything in particular.

Plus the fact that I cannot diagnose with an OS up and running I might call it a day and ask my mate what he wants to do with tis one. I have an oldish machine I refurbed with 7 on it it I might just let him have for a few bucks.

But thanks for the ideas:)

No Bear just a CD but as per my previous post I think the board has eaten the biscuit as it could only boot the Ubuntu and then just freeze. The HDD was not connected so It couldn't have been it interfering with the OS.

It seems that the XP and the Ubuntu both booted and ran but the system froze soon afterwards.

Oh the memtest I downloaded it but it just would not burn image to disk, I might have to try it on the Sandy Bridge.
