difficulty installing win7 64bit via USB key

I did several install runs today testing the USB drives. The place you mention seems to me must involve the memory and processor, or I suppose the install files.

The hard drive has not yet been accessed, so I do not think it is that, the USB drive is working, as is your DVD drive, as has now been shown.

I don't think a video problem would stop it at that point.

I would certainly download and burn a DVD before I would buy one.

Do you have any other computers you could try your media and hard drive in?

Did you try the 32 bit version of Windows 7? You probably have the other DVD in the package.

To those who may still be interested - I solved the problem. The computer is now purring like a kitten.

Before purchasing any new hardware or software I decided to re-enter (flash) the BIOS again. I downloaded the latest BIOS again from the MSI website onto another USB key then re-installed the BIOS. Then, when I booted from the USB drive I had previously installed the OS on it installed without further holdup. Whether it was the new USB key or whether I had corrupted the original BIOS I know not. However, the problem is now solved. Thanks to you all for your advice.

Cheers
Valjo
