Diner Dash 5: BOOM just won't let me play >.<

I am a fan of Diner dash and decided to download the game--diner dash 5: BOOM--because i heard its really cool. But my heart broke when this message appeared on my screen:

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of the Windows that you are running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 or x64 version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

i just need it to run on windows7. i know that i downloaded an x64 version, but it just doesn't work~!!! >.<
i tried changing the compatibility mode but it doesn't help. i've tried reading on a lot of forums but i don't know what to believe~ >.<

Complains about DD5 crashing at loading or at lvl 1 are found all over the net.
Did you ever consider that the problem simply is (to be polite) "less than optimal programming"??
Try Compatibility mode XP SP3 and disable Desktop composition...I've heard that might help
