Since I have my new Windows 7 PC it periodically emits an audio ding for no apparent reason. There are no audio or email settings that would account for that. Anyone have an explanation and cure for this annoying thing? Thanks. Hal.

It generally means there's some kind of system error going on in the background. Check your Event Viewer.
