Anyone has any idea how to create a direct shortcut that when I click on it - it will display the prompt where I click "connect" and get connected? Now I have to click on the icon next to the clock, then choose the connection, then click connect, then click connect in the prompt yet again. I used to have that shortcut right on the desktop on XP and it was so much more convenient.

Thanks!

Have a look at the RASPHONE and RASDIAL command-line utilities. They're scriptable, so you could relatively easily create a shortcut to a batch file which invokes the desired connectoid.

Can you explain more about these two - I couldn't find much info on them... What I want to do is make a direct shortcut to this prompt:

Hey folks just wanted to update this and let you know that I've found a solution in case someone else stumbles across this.

Network Connections Shortcut - Vista Forums

Open Network and Sharing Center and Click on Change Adapter Settings in left pane.

Now drag your connection to desktop or right click on connection and choose Create Shortcut.
