Direct X Installation Error

Can somebody please tell me what to do with this...

A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please check valid certificate is installed and Cryptographic Services are enabled.

Welcome to Seven Forums peenutV. I suspect you had a corrupted download, but now have these corrected files on your PC. Since DirectX is preinstalled with Windows, the files are spread out all over the system. I would 1st start with running the System File Checker.

If no help, or if after running SFC 3 times, errors cannot be repaired. Have a look at these 2 threads for different things to try.

If no help, I'll just warn you about so called DirectX uninstaller programs. Don't try any of them unless you have backup system images (not just restore points) to restore from if necessary. I'd suggest a Repair install, or a clean install if none of these suggestions (or any further replies) help.
