Can anyone guide me to Startup in Registry in Win7?

It used to be HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Windows\load

... but that doesn't work for win 7.

Yes, there's msconfig/startup but I've just loaded Soluto and that tells me
there's more in startup than is showing in msconfig/startup

Soluto will show you everything that's starting up including multiple System files. You don't want to mess with any of them except the ones which Soluto offers to Delay or Pause - to delay their startup until after the System starts, or Pause which is the same as unchecking them in msconfig>Startup.

Ohh there is also HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-**********-**********-*********-****\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

I would uninstall Google Updater in Programs and Features, or using Revo Uninstaller. It is spyware which will find ways to turn itself back otherwise.

I only allow AV and gadgets/stickies in my Startup. Most toolbars are spyware BTW, use only the stable browser built-in search without signing into Google if you don't want a profile made of your habits.

Done! Wondered how it got there ..now I know. It was attached to IE 8, which I very rarely use preferring FF.
Thanks Greg!
