Sorry if this has been address before or if this is in the wrong section, since I'm new here. ;)

The issue that I've been getting recently is that I get a popup message that says something about C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\desktop is unavailable, causing the wallpaper to be black and aero to be disabled. I have uploaded a screen shot of the message.

This isn't the first time this issue has come up, since it usually occurs once every week or so. This week however, it occurred yesterday, and then it occurred again today, so I thought it was about time I asked for some help regarding this issue. Yesterday I noticed a long hang at a "Preparing your desktop..." screen after typing in my password on my login screen which I have never seen before, so I knew it was not going to be a good thing.

What's interesting is that each time this is fixed by a restart, as after I restart everything returns back to normal. Anyone know of any possible fixes for this?

Thanks in advance. I believe my system specs are available on my profile if needed.

Thanks for the fast response! I'm liking this forum already. :)

The tool finished successfully, but as usual I can't tell if it fixed the problem immediately since it usually only happens once every week or so.

If I don't post back here, that means that the problem is resolved.

Thanks!

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but this issue has come back! :(

I suppose that the problem has not been fixed.. It "prepares my desktop" everytime it fails. Any other insight?
