DirectX 11 ?

I have a GTX 295 (XFX) and have heard that the new 300 series will be DirectX 11 compatible. Does anyone have any info on DirectX 11. I thought Windows 7 had DirectX 10 like vista.

If so, what would be the performance implications?

Windows 7 comes with DirectX 11.
