directX 9.0 and sims 2 prob.

I recently had to wipe my computer clean and start from scratch. Upgraded to windows 7. I reinstalled the sims2 and all of the expansions last night just fine but the game won't launch. Message appears saying "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate."
So, i installed directX but it still says the same thing. I've tried numerous things to fix this. I've checked the directX settings and all three (directdraw acc., direct3d acc., AGP texture acc.) are not available. I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be enabled. Why wouldn't it be available? I don't understand this. I dont know much about computers.. rarely anything really. It worked fine with windows XP and i didn't have to install directX before. Could anyone help in simple terms? Much appreciated.

mind filling your system specs(lower left corner) and telling us what graphic card you have? thanks

I filled out my specs.. hoping i put all the right info in. Like i said, i don't know anything about computers.

obviously you don't have proper driver installed for your graphic card. Look in the case and check what brand it is. Other way,you can try go to run>type dxdiag>go to display tab. Your graphic should be either ATI,Nvdia,or Intel Graphic

You can install the latest drivers for your video card by using Windows Update in the Optional section.
