directX 9

My game is crashing when I try to start it up the event log says its c/windows/system32/d3d9.dll error I've tried updating directx and everything is up to date. I tried to replace the d3d9.dll with one I downloaded and it says I need administrator permission to do it. I am the admin, and I even tried logged in as the hidden admin. Still won't let me do it. What do I need to do?

Try downloading the March issue of Direct X from Microsoft. August edition were known to have issues with certain games.

The problem is that if you have already downloaded and installed the August Update of Direct X, the installer will not install the previous versions.
Any suggestions?

For that, I really have no idea. Is there a DirectX directory that you can modify?

No, they go in the windows/system folder

Noit it will not effect the veion11 that ship swith Windows 7.

You can always download the updates manually if you want to ensure the files are installed. Download details: DirectX Redist (August 2009)

Did a fresh install of win7 and now it works, weird.
