I can't get rid of the Adobe Flash Player Update that pops up in Windows 7 whenever adobe push out a new update, can anyone help?

Its Flash Player 10, and i've disabled updating using their Adobe Global Settings Manager, but it still randomly pops up every other day with the update popup screen.

Is their a permenant solution to prevent the updates? Nothing in msconfig either, so how on earth do i stop it?

I'm doing this on a corporate rollout scale, so i need to implement it on the image

Thanks in advance.

Possible that the last Flash update to correct a critical vulnerability might have corrupted something. I'd try using the Adobe Flash Uninstaller (last updated 8/10/10) and then install a fresh copy.

Uninstall Flash Player

Tried the flash uninstaller and reinstalled the flash player v10, still the same problem. In fact i've done the same thing on 4 different PCs, and all come up with adobe flash player update despite choosing the global settings and disabling updates...

The pop up still comes up.

There has got to be a registry setting that that permenantly turn off this pathetic adobe update checker.
Can't believe they can get away with this, how are corporations not jumping down adobe's throats with this?

Surely if you untick the global settings update tick box, it must change a setting somewhere???

Anyone managed to successfully turn off updates with flash player v10?

I heard that creating a mms.cfg file in version 9 may have worked, anyone had success with v10?

I use this command in a batch file but the mms.cfg file will not copy on Windows 7 boxes.

msiexec.exe /qn /i %~dp0install_flash_player_10_active_x.msi
copy %~dp0mms.cfg %systemroot%\system32\macromed\flash /y

MMS.cfg contains:

AutoUpdateDisable = 1

This works fine on XP machines. need to figure out how to get around UAC I guess...
