My name is Rick, and I'm a 16 years old student at an ICT-school. At school, there are some 'jokes' where we lock someones computer, rotate the screen, and in my case, enable high contrast with SHIFT-ALT-PRINT SCREEN.

The problem here: everytime I set it back through normal means, the next time I log in high contrast is enabled again! And the admin pretty much blocked off a LOT of options.

Does anyone know a way to disable high contrast that an admin might not think of?
I would really like to be able to disable it for good.

P.S. I can disable high contrast with the options in the CTRL-ALT-DELETE menu, but it doesn't change the task bar and it resets to high contrast when I log out.

Thanks for reading my problem, and help would be appreciated.

Hi Rick,

Sevenforums does not condone "mischevious" behaviour, the following info should only be used to get your computer back to its original state as you say you would like to do.

I'm not entirely sure if this will work, but you could try copying and pasting the following text into a notepad document. Then save the document as something like "ChangeTheme.vbs". You can save it to the desktop for easy access if you are allowed.
Of course, this may require an admin password depending on how they have set up their policy.

Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
WshShell.Run "rundll32.exe %SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL %SystemRoot%\system32\desk.cpl desk,@Themes /Action:OpenTheme /file:""C:\Windows\Resources\Ease of Access Themes\basic.theme"""
Wscript.Sleep 1000
WshShell.AppActivate("Desktop Properties")
WshShell.Sendkeys "%FC"
WshShell.Sendkeys "{F4}"

Once you have saved the .vbs file, double click it and run the script.

I would also suggest simply contacting the System Administrator and asking him to reset your account profile

Let me know how this goes :)

Did not work...

Many thanks for your reply, but I'm afraid the admin blocked this off as well...

Sorry, but we're not going to help you bypass your administrators policies any further, and please don't ask again.
