Hi,

Like I turn off hibernation, what is the command to turn off sleep?

Hi,
Not a good idea to do on a laptop turning off hibernation
Hibernate - Enable or Disable
But use command prompt and paste this or type this and hit the enter key
powercfg -h off

To open command prompt just hit the winkey and type in the search box
cmd
Right click the cmd listing and click on Run as administrator then do the above.
After type in
exit
And hit the enter key again.

Sleep is something that is harmless to disable you can do that in power options

Mostly because laptops run off a battery primarily
If that battery drains you have no power saving features so the machine goes into a very limited power state so you don't loose what you were working on...

My laptop I leave hibernation on and just limit sleep I do have an ssd in it too it is just a concession hibernation is a good thing on a laptop it's different than a desktop.
But on a desktop I also have a apc battery backup system if I loose power so my desktops I can disable hibernation on them without worries of loosing anything :)

I use apc too....my lap mostly runs on power vs. batt. It's hard to find a decent 9 cell, 11.1V 80Whr Lion batt.

Dell has stopped manufacturing, 3rd party sources from China, either are incompatible or SOT isn't decent.

That's why I disable hib on my lap, I fall asleep, power off the lap, reason I asked how to disable sleep....any command, like for hib.

Hi,

My batt was dying, contacted Dell, they recommended 3rd party...got 3 batts all not worth vs. the original.......problems with discharging, incorrect stats, 60-75 mins max...:huh:

Now mostly use power, have a patient from China, she promised to get me an original refurbished Dell with exact specs....:rolleyes:
