PLEASE can someone tell me in words of one syllable how to disable the touchpad on my Toshiba L450D without taking it apart and disconnecting it? I installed a wireless Microsoft mouse (superb) and now cannot get past the intellipoint mouse properties in order to disable the touchpad. The cursor flying all over place drives me NUTS. But what's the point of having a flexible portable laptop if I have to constantly take a wireless mouse everywhere? NO, FnF9 does not work either despite being labelled as being able to do so.

Hello Ian Rigby. Welcome to the Forum.

Normally that is quite easy:

Right-click on Synaptics Pointing Device icon on the Taskbar > pointing device properties > device settings tab > disable synaptics touchpad > apply > ok

If you do not have the Synaptics icon available then search for Synaptics from the Start search box.
