Solved Disappearing Desktop Icons

Everytime I install Windows 7 I have my optical Drives & removable Media Icons on the desktop, after about a week they disapear if there is no media present in them & then keep disapearing constantly afterwards, has anyone come across this problem or know of a solution, it seems like theres a Desktop Cleanup Wizard running, but I haven't been able to find any in Windows 7

The Desktop Cleanup Wizard is part of the System Maintenance Troubleshooter now in Windows 7. The tutorial below will help show you how to turn it off to see if that is the cause of the desktop icons disappearing on you.

Well it's been a week & all my Icons are still there, so looks like the problems solved, thanks again, Shawn, . (A Rhetorical Question) Why would Microsoft put in a cleanup wizard that regards shortcuts to empty drives as broken???

If you haven't used them on 3 months, then it would have also considered them "unused" and removed them.
