Lol it's the only BG that doesn't kill my eyes. I cannot stand dark text on light BGs....hence most websites kill my eyes....

Never played (or hell, even heard of) DarnUI...

Hmmm.... just switched to black to see what you were talking about. That's odd, it shouldn't have any color as I just typed it in standard format. Hmmmm.

Maybe because I copied it from word doing my normal spell check??? Don't know what happened there

Yeah, copying from Word preserves FONT and COLOR attributes. You're better off either 1) copying text only (ignoring attributes) or 2) using Notepad / notepad replacement text editors for that.

after killing the pipboy i had no choice but to start a new game. but i learned that the game has a lot of replay value, even though i essentially made the same exact character..... lv 4 and counting. was at 26 before the boom.

yeah, i think i'm coming near the end now...

just finished it after 92 hours.

think i'll have a few weeks off, and then start again, playing as a bad guy.

honestly, i've had less than a handful of crashes, only one broken quest, and quite a bit of fun.

Well at least you made it out. After talking to Chauncy and dealing with the other shenanigans I saved. Now when I restart from there I move about a foot before the game locks up again. Oh happy happy joy joy :sarc:

Anyway I'm going out of town for a few days but when I come back I'll see if I can "save" my way out of the bath house

Well I finally "saved" my way out of the bath house..... only to have the game crash when I started moving to another area

There are a few 'hotspots' in that casino. Once I finished that Beef quest, I got the hell out the ultra-luxe...

I finished the game 3, I still can't convince myself that it's better than Fallout 3. I don't know, neither 3 or New Vegas have that charm that Fallout 1 and 2 had. It's great that they completely changed the gameplay, but the characters in the game simply look out of place. I can't put my finger on it, but most of the times I just feel like I'm talking to cardboard cutouts that order me to do weird things. Also, I absolutely hated the game for not having an easy way of switching from melee to a ranged weapon or grenade. Pretty much ruined my favorite way of playing, as a sneaky ninja / terrorist. I mean, imagine going all stealth and then throwing grenades. Doesn't that make perfect sense? Anyway, it can't be done.

Still, I must say that there are a whole lot of great addons out there, and if anyone's reading this and still playing vanilla Fallout, you should really look into them, some of them are straight improvements to the game

Update on casino bugs...

About two weeks ago I posted these two bugs....

1- Every time I enter the bath house at the Ultraluxe casino the game hard locks.

2- Entering the Gomorrah casino, I get no cut scene about giving up my weapons happens, my HUD display disappears, and I can’t move.

both of which requires a Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get out of

Well I just started playing the game again and thought I'd post some feedback on those bugs.

1- I literally "saved" my way out of the bath house. That is I'd move a few feet before the game locked, save, move a few feet more and saved until I finally got out of the bath house. After that, I was finally able to complete the "Beyond the beef" side quest.

Now.... here's the biggie for item 2...... (possible spoiler)

Once I got the platinum chip, and returned it to Mr. House, I'm now able to enter the Gomorrah casino without issue. That is I now get the cut scene to give up my weapons, and my hud no longer disappears.

So..... either do any tasks you might have at the Gomorrah casino "before" meeting Mr. House, or "after" completing The house always wins, l quest.

This seem like it might be some form of a scripting bug or error?

BTW.... If you've been to Camp McCarran and stumbled on the side quest The White Wash, that quest leads you to the Gomorrah casino. So that's one reason to go there when you first enter the strip.

Just an update. I am now fully back in the game.

Please note that once you've updated the game, you can confirm it's been installed by going to the Title Screen>Settings>Display. In the lower left corner you should see Version 1.2.0.310 in the lower left-hand corner.

I guess he decided to write a guide for GeForce.com to fill a void? I say that because when the game was first released, he stated that the tweaks were pretty much the same, indicating that no new guide would be forthcoming. With a sponsor like Nvidia at your door, well...

For those looking to tweak Fallout: New Vegas....

Update: Tweaking Fallout: New Vegas is similar to tweaking Fallout 3, so see the Advanced Tweaking section of the Fallout 3 Tweak Guide. Note that tweaks which would normally go into the Fallout.ini file must be made in Fallout_default.ini found under the \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas directory.
