display calibration question

when using my laptop i use the default display calibration slider to turn down (i think its gamma) and i move it all the way down to darken the screen, my question is , is there any way to save that setting ? everytime i restart it goes back

at the end of the calibration process, windows will prompt you with two buttons, previous or current calibration setting. It should be saved when you press on current.
