Display Driver problem

This issue has come up many many times and unfortuantely there really isn't a fix all for the problem.

As I posted here - http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/1348-driver-stopped-responding-recovered-3.html#post462479 there are many theories on the causes as well as fixes. While one fix might work for some, others find they don't work at all.

And this issue affects both card manufacturers, ATI & Nvidia.

It's starting to point more and more to a Window's issue, but....

One other thing - If you're overclocking in any way, I would start there first. And no, you don't need to be overclocked the experience this issue, so.

I also had this problem
This was caused by a faulty video card
Replacing the card was the only solution

Being it is a laptop that would be a rather expensive option replacing the card even if it can be done. Usually I would recommend modding the.inf file but unfortunately your card isn't listed in the program i usually send people to. As syngus21 has stated above this is a seemly unresolvable problem. I can only suggest useing the search function for driver stopped responding and reading through the many threads on this topic and hopefully find something that will resolve this for you. how to modding the .inf?i dont understand

I think I may have the solution to all of your problems. Just today I decided to install the windows update for my Nvidia geforce 9800 gtx. I let it install, leave, come back a few hours later only to see my screen resolution changed to default. So I change it back to how it was before I installed the update (1200x800) and the screen is blurry (text and small images) I quickly assume that the recent update was the culprit. So the solution was to undo the update by going to the start menu, right clicking My Computer, Manage, then opening the Device Manager. From there, I located the video card under Display Adapters. Right click the video card, and click Properties. In the Drivers tab, click Roll Back Driver to restore it to the previous installed driver. This solved the blurry issue for me. Hope it helps!

In most cases nlvddmkm errors are hardware related

I recently purchased two identical desktops from acer. One had the dreaded nlvddmkm disease the other one did not. The failures were not game related, they occurred randomly with little rhyme or reason. After numerous laughable email exchanges with the overseas tech support group, they decided I should send the system back to Acer. After exhausting all the driver update senarios, I bit the bullet and sent it in for repair. The turnaround was rapid and when I got the system back the report said they had changed the HARD DRIVE. Well of course that did not fix the problem. I pulled the video card out and exchanged it with the one in my other system. Now both systems are working fine. Go figure. I only pass this on for info as it will undoubtedly not help anyone.
