Hi guys.

I am having a little problem on my display. I reformat my computer from windows XP to Windows 7 recently however during installation (time/date set, password setup), my screen went to blank/unable to detect any graphic. I am using DVI socket.

First I thought it might be my graphic card problem however when I switch to my other com, my graphic card work fine with it. I try to plug in other graphic card into my comp, it works with VGA socket. I try to put DVI socket but it doesn't work as well.

I even try to go to low resolution and safe mode with my current graphic card. I am able to do so. I try to install driver that i got from nvidia website however it is still the same.

After the windows loading page, my screen is blank.

Is there any solution for this?

dunokobi,
Welcome to SF. Did you do a clean install of WS and was it a 32 or 64 bit version. Did you check with Asus if a bios update was needed and did you perform this bios update? Can you use the VGA socket for purpose of a working monitor and then install all the current video and other component drivers from Asus's web site and then re-boot and switch to the DVI connection?

Hi linnemeyerhere

I do a clean format on my harddisk. I am installing Windows 7 home premium 32 bit version. I did bios update on my motherboard and my graphic doesn't have a vga socket. Unless i change a different graphic card.

dunokobi,
What are the chances that the DVI cable has a bent pin/missing pin or has a break inside the cable? Really stupid question have you changed the monitors input from VGA to DVI if it has this feature like my monitor does?

hi dude, my graphic card output would only have DVI and also HDMI..no VGA...the chances that the problem with VGI socket is impossible because i m using another windows right nw and it is working.
