display issues on applications where no text is displayed

Hi all

New here and looking for some help. Issue is that when you startup the win 7 notebook it all runs as normal. As soon as you open an application such as the broadband connection software or even task manager they will not display properly.
The tabs have no text in them but you can select them but no information is listed.

any ideas?

This sounds like a virus or malware issue. If the hardware was at fault it would mean no display, or funny display behaviour, but not of the "logical" sort that you described. I suggest starting with MalwareBytes and using it to identify and remove threats. Other good free anti-virus offerings include !Avast Anti - Virus and Microsoft Security Essentials.
