Hello all, Im new here and love the forum. Great info. When I first got here I had a bunch of questions and through searching and reading Im finding great detailed answers. Thanks.
Now for my problem. After I enter my password, as my desktop loads I see a pop up for a quick second then it disapears. See below.
My computer is a week old and I dont remember always seeing it. It just caught my eye the other night. What could it be? The other nite I googled something, clicked on a link a got a pop warning of an infection and to click for a free scan. I didnt fall for the scan nor did click on the x to close the pop up. I restarted my computer and then did a full sys. scan with Norton. No problems. Then last nite I downloaded and ran Microsoft Safty Scanner, again no problem.
My computer seems fine, Its not slow, no screwy programs nothing unusul. The only other problem I had was IE 8 crashed a couple of times on me, but thats not unusual.
So am I sweating the small stuff or could this be a problem?
I did the clean boot and found the offender. Its a startup item called Hotkey by JME, so I disabled it from the Norton startup manager. I googled it and found out its a driver download from Lenovo. Lenovo Support - Drivers & Downloads
Not sure what it does.
I have a Lenovo computer with One Key Rescue. Could it be a macro for the Rescue? In the upper right of the pop up theres what looks like a finger pressing a key.
Im thinking its just the One Key Rescue starting. Does this sound plausable?
Ill have to check with Lenovo. OH HOW I HATE TELEPHONE SUPPORT!!!
