I have a question and not sure if I should uncheck the check mark in the box in my RAMdisk on my SSD. Here is below:

[] Allows files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties.

Right now there is a check in the box and should I uncheck this or leave it alone as is.

I am not sure about this part.

Checking it would likely be of no benefit. The contents of a RAMDisk is volatile, meaning it will be lost after a power down. Thus any indexes are likely to be invalid before they are used. A RAMDisk is very fast and can be searched quickly without indexes.

I am not a big believer in the use of a RAMDisk in a modern operating system. A modern OS has a a sophisticated caching system that provides most of the benefits of a RAMDisk with fewer problems. In most cases a RAMDisk is a poor use of memory. There are legitimate uses of a RAMDisk but not many.
