Do I need BroadCom BlueTooth Software?

I can't find the information I am looking for on my Google search. I am trying to figure out if my wireless internet connection uses the BoradCom BlueTooth Software to get it's connection. I think I got the software using SlimDrivers as one of it's recommended downloads. Since I have no want to connect other devices wireless to my laptop, is this in essence a useless program for me?

Wifi (wireless internet you are talking about) and bluetooth are different stuff. Unless you're obtaining your "wireless internet" through your phone's internet via bluetooth, you should not need bluetooth.

Also, if Windows automatically installs driver for your bluetooth, you may uninstall the Broadcom software since Windows' inbuilt bluetooth utilities are pretty good and does the job just right.

Ahhhh. Uninstalled it, it isn't running in my process window, and I am still getting internet. Thank you.



Side question................... Where would one find the other bluetooth driver if it exists, and how would you delete them?

You can find the drivers on your drivers disc that you got with your system or on the HP website by going to their support page and inputting your model name.

I always thought it was basically a method of devices talking to each other and not the actual direct internet connection itself.

Actually, I don't need that kind of help. What I am trying to do now is delete all blue tooth drivers from my system, which I cannot do for some reason, every time I restart it just keeps loading back up. But I did permanently delete BroadCom, it's only the driver that was there when I look at after my initial installation.

Turn the Bluetooth device off and the drivers won't keep loading/installing.

EDIT: You can also go into device manager and disable it.

I was able to disable it and it has stayed disabled and not running randomly in the back ground, still have internet too.


But.......................... I cannot get it to stay uninstalled. Oh well, I got what I wanted for now.

That is possible if you have a switch to switch off bluetooth. It could be a hardware switch or some special key in your keyboard area. Windows will automatically keep reinstalling the hardware after every reboot by default.
