Hi,

I'm thinking to upgrade to Win 7 Pro or Win 7 Ultimate. I have a Lenovo B570 1068-AHU with an Intel i3 2.20 Ghz Core Processor so

My questions are:

Does Win 7 Pro runs slower than Win 7 Home Premium??

and

Does Win 7 Ultimate runs slower than Win 7 Home Premium??

Thanks for your help

Nnnnnnoooooo...

Ok well there are some extra features in the more advanced ones you can decide to use and if you actually use them they may take up a tiny bit more ram and a tiny bit more CPU (like 1% maybe?). But as a stock install of each, no, they are 99% identical.

Well the difference would be so minimal you wouldn't even notice it. Unless you have low disk space, Windows 7 Ultimate will use more and fill your Hard Drive which could slow down your computer - An example of this is installing all 34 Language Packs - that will use up quite a bit of Disk Space.

Your computer should run it fine.

There should be no difference in performance by using a different version of Windows 7.

Have a look here at comparisons between each version: Compare Windows - Microsoft Windows

Quite honestly, unless you need to log on to a domain there's little benefit to the home user in upgrading from Home Premium so you need to ask yourself if the extra expense is worth it.

Carlos15. Just stop. It doesn't matter which edition you run. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. If you can run one, you can run the other. The only difference between the editions is the extra software features that have no effect on performance.

Pick the operating system that has the things that you need or intend to use and get on with your life. Their is probably some one with a chart and graft to show you some difference but you and your computer will never know the difference.

That processor will yank either version around quite smoothly, even with less RAM.
