I've Googled some of these already but I am unsure if I can turn any of the following off and get away with it.

IAStorIcon.exe
Apoint.exe
SysTrayApp (sttray64.exe)
nwiz.exe
NvCplDaemon (RUNDLL32.exe)
NvHotkey
UseService (BCMDeviceAndTaskStatusService.exe)
msseces.exe
TdmNotify.lnk

The rest I know about (I had a few more than what's listed here) but I'm not sure about these. Can anybody help?

Thanks.

Nvidia Video card? nwiz.exe, NvCplDaemon, NvHotkey are probabaly to do with Nvidia drivers and the Nvidia control panel.
msseces.exe is Microsoft Security Essentials.

I haven't used this for awhile, but I think it will tell you what most of them are.
Windows startup programs. What are they? Are they required? How can I disable them?
Thanks, I've been there. That's a page maintained by SpyBot and is more associated with detecting malware that may get into your machine and plants itself on startup.

Since this is a brand new machine, I don't expect any of these to be malware in the truest sense, but I'm not sure if any of them can be disabled, either.

Are they essential services? That's more how I'm approaching this.

msseces.exe is definitely MS Security Essentials
BCMDeviceAndTaskStatusService.exe appears to be some sort of Dell thing
Apoint.exe is part of touchpad drivers
IAStorIcon.exe is "The program is related to Intel Rapid Recover Technology" according to a quick Google search

Hope that helps!

You should have a second column with the name of the manufacturer this will give you a better idea as to what they are
