My usb vezzy 200 has 2 intenal wifi connectors, iam trying to identify what type of connector they are to buy the antennas to attach to them?
I read one is for the 2.4ghz & the other for the 5ghz frequencies?
I tried to add the photo of the device but it wouldnt let me add it to this thread so this is the address of the picture with the two connectors at the top of the opened usb wifi card. Mine is exactly the same inside!

They are called SMA connectors.

If you want to learn more or even possibly make your own antenna you should check out this YouTube channel.

In case anyone is confused I am fairly certain he is asking about the two round copper connectors at the top of the picture.

Wrong. That is an MCX (Micro Coaxial Receptacle) , an M.2 form factor connector. Amazon link.

There are several types, too.

I buy from these guys all the time. Great stuff, great quality pigtails and whatnot. RFC (Request For Comments) type cable is no different than the premium stuff. But I'm sure the "experts" will disagree. LOL

= Information you probably don't care about =

If you read the descriptions at Amazon and were wondering just what the heck an SDR is, it's a Software Defined Radio. The budget entry ones look like a USB thumb drive. You tune them to what ever you want to listen to via software like SDR# et al. Github has LOADS of cool stuff beyond even that. Like virtual KVMs (Key Variable Loaders) and you name it. There's even the Linux based GNURadio which will probably whip any so-called Linux expert. There's also OP25 and DSD+. There's also the new KrakenSDR. A DFing (Direction Finding) SDR that will find you right quick if you illegally transmit on a frequency you're not suppose to. Amateur radio operators all over get their rocks off by DFing some hobo doing that. Trust me.

Check this out. websdr.org

Thank you digital life for adding the photo, you mentioned SMA connectors, i thought SMA screw together?
F22 simpilot, that sounds more plausable & i will look into an MCX connector. The reason was just to try to get a better signal.
Are they the 2.4ghz & 5ghz antenna connectors? If so which is which because the router im using is only broadcasting on 2.4ghz?
I had taken apart some old laptops and removed the wireless antennas and connected 2 of them, they did attach but were not easy to stick them together so i dont think they are the right antennas even though they do look similar? think they are called UL.F or I.PEX connectors?

Thanks for your time on this matter!

I'm sorry, I don't.
I am a novice.
I saw what I had seen in the past and reported it.
The tech specs are beyond me.

Both would be for 2.4GHz and 5GHz. There are two antenna connectors for diversity...

F22 simpilot, What do you make of this? i asked a ebay seller to identify the connectors? He replied with this?

He replied with what?

- - - Updated - - -

Yep U.FL/I-PEX. Not MCX like I thought. The MCX connector is most common in GPS/SDR/Drone quadcopter connections. To me they look damn, damn similar.

antenna - Difference between Hirose U.FL and IPEX connectors - Electrical Engineering Stack Exchange

Female U.FL connectors are not designed with reconnection in mind, and they are only rated for a few reconnects (approximately 30 mating cycles[5])

Hirose U.FL - Wikipedia

Keep that in mind. The pigtail should be a permanent fixture if used.

Yeah F22 simpilot, they are SW-23 connectors, they look femail though not mail as the ebay seller says.

Ok thanks!

F22 simpilot, my mate is selling a radio, its a ICOM IC-R 8500, he had it from work, but he didnt find the power supply for it,i looked them up and they are over £2000 new, there are a few on ebay now for around £700.

- - - Updated - - -

They arn`t U.FL/IPEX connectors, them are the connectors on laptop internal intel wifi cards, that the internal antenna attaches too.
These 2 are alot different, compare SW-23.
