Does Chrome 109.0.5414.120 autoupdate on Win 7 Pro?

I'm getting conflicting info on Google. One source says Chrome will auto-update and render uBlock Origin null and void. Another source says Chrome is not supported on Win 7, and will not autoupdate. If the former, how do I permanently disable autoupdate? Thanks!

So will my version of Chrome autoupdate or not? Commonsense would suggest that since this is "the last version", it will not, but then commonsense seems to be an alien concept to Google. If it will update I need to stop it, and if I cannot stop it, I need to jettison Chrome. Either way, a browser without uBlock Origin is unusable.

I have seen that while doing the Google search. The site assumes I know how to do this:

  1. Set the value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Update\AutoUpdateCheckPeriodMinutes to the REG_DWORD value of "0".
An erroneous assumption....can someone walk me through this step-by-step? I need to know how to get to it, how to find my way to the specific key when I do, and how exactly to change the REG_DWORD. Thanks.

Chrome 109 (109.0.5414.120) is the last version to support Windows 7. Chrome 109 was released January 10, 2023.
