Does LockWorkStation (Windows-L) permit background computing?

Specifically: I'm a contributor to theSkyNet, and my CPU is crunching away whenever I'm gone from the desktop (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) or whenever there's idle time outside of whatever I'm working on at the moment. I'm wondering if that processing will go on if I lock the computer when I leave it. I suppose I could test that by sending myself an email, but it's easier to ask those with more expertise than I, which is almost everybody.

Srleslie, the windows-l key just runs your screen saver which if set correctly will require a password when you press a key which then logs you back on. All of your running programs like Outlook will continue to receive email.

Any program that sits and waits for user intervention such as clicking OK, will just stop right there.
