This is my work system. I designed the IT department's PC's, all are like this. My home system is an Intel i7 based system with 6gigs of DDR trichannel ram, a LianLi aluminum case, and 3 500gb drives in a raid 5. It blows away my work PC. I built the work pc's in October '08, my home pc around Feb 09, and they ended up costing about the same!
Dropbox works fine on Se7en though ;)

mozy worx on W7

That's good to know, although it is too late for me, as I'm already a pro user. I did get it to work. I just had to click "next" and not worry about the bandwidth test. Worx fah-een!

Mozy seems to cause a whole bunch of other things to break for me, including MS Office. At first I thought it was my anti-virus, but installing things one at a time led to mozy.

RE: Mozy breaking Office

Hmm... how does it break Office? What issues are you experiencing? Mine seems fine... I'm running latest Mozy and latest Office (2007).

Mozy itself does't work perfectly, but the issues it has are limited to status reporting. When you install it says you don't have enough bandwidth, but if you just continue past it, it installs and works fine. During backups it usually doesn't report the bandwidth usage. None of which as any effect, that it is, it does actually work. My desktop gadget tells me the amount of bandwidth being taken up, and the amount left to back up drops every time I reboot. I do wish Mozy would work out those bugs though, it just doesn't look good to those who are just trying out Mozy.

I don't have any bandwitdth problems. But after I install it, any Office program opens and then just hangs and says Not Responding. It was only after days of installing and uninstalling various programs, and lots of system restoring did I discover that it was Mozy doing this. I didn't even expect it at all.

hmmm...

That's really strange. You're using the latest Mozy Home backup, right? What version of Office?

I assume it's the latest home version. It's whatever is on their website right now. Office 2007 Ultimate with all of the latest updates.

not sure if its because the drive thats getting backed up is not my main drive but i have had no problems using mozy.... I have only used it for a couple of days and the drive that im backing up has about 365GB of data on it and about 30.2GB has been uploaded as of right now :p so it should take about another 3 weeks:shock:. also i am uisng windows image backup everyday and having the image go on that drive and all seems to work great..... def worth the $5 a month.

I've been using Mozy for a while now without any problems on Vista and on XP before that but it doesn't seem to be working on Windows 7.

I created an initial backup set of about 300MB and it claims to have backed it all up in considerably less than a minute and I'm afraid my internet connection just isn't fast enough for that!
