So I want to buy a new PSU.

This one here: Arvutikeskus.ee - TOOTEKATALOOG » Toiteplokid (PSU) » PSU 500W - 550W » Enermax Lepa W-series 500W W500-SA ATX 80+ Bronze

My specs are:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
4,00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 399MHz
IP35P (Intel P35+ICH9) (Socket 775)
512MB GeForce GTS 250

I am trying to upgrade my pc and buying stuff one at a time, after that PSU, will this processor work?

Protsessor INTEL BX80623I72600 Core i7 2600/ Quad Core/ 8 Threads/ 3.40 Ghz/ Turbo / 8 MB Cache / 32 nm / DDR3-800/1066/1333/ Sandy Bridge / BOX - OX.ee

Thank you.

Having a look at the mobo, it's a bit outdated and I would consider replacing that as well.

As far as the PSU fitting, we need to know what type of case you have.

If this were my system, I would just keep it as it is and just build a new one. You can sell it or keep it for a back up. With your current system specs you are limited to the amount of upgrading you can do. I can't see spending the money to retro-fit that system it would better spent on a new more modern system. You'll be much happier in the long run. Plus it's a great learning experience.

To answer your question about the CPU, no it won't work. You currently have a socket 775 motherboard and that i7 2600K is a socket 1155 CPU. You want that CPU you're going to need a new motherboard as bassfisher6522 said as well as DDR3 ram.
