Does windows 7 support 1280 x 1024

I just wanted to ask why i can't play some RTS games or any games in general in 1280 x 1024 resolution?

I use to have windows vista 64 and games could play on that resolution with out any problem but when i updated to windows 7 they stoped.

Is there something i have to install in order for this to work in windows 7?

P.S--I have already updated my drivers..

its your video card and drivers that dictate the resolution. Windows 7 will have no say in it. so it should work if it did before

the color of the water and grass is pixilated like weird the water has purple and the grass has red

Any suggestions on how to fix this... do you guys know where i can update my drivers, other than the ati website because they do not have the radeon 3200 video card that i have...weird

Yes i updated it from the hp website
ATI Radeon Graphics Driver HP Pavilion dv6z-1100 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)
but it does not have a specific radeon driver update im guessing its just a general one...idk if that makes a difference

Maybe if you got a newer video card it would run in higher res? I have mine at 1920x1080 (god I love HD) with no problems so you just might need a newer card.

Oh! Thanks for letting me know that Age of Empires II works on Windows 7. I guess I should move soon...

Yes they do (and probably the same as the one from HP. Where do you think HP gets the driver from?). Start here,

select 32 bit or 64 bit Windows 7, then select Mobility Radeon, then select Mobility Radeon HD 3200 Series and download the Catalyst 9.9. That one should get you up and running.

3000 series is what you want it includes 3200

64bit: ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver

how do i find that out? well it came with my laptop i did not install it, if that is what you are asking
